wondering what you should eat?
Wondering what’s the best diet direction for you to follow? Paleo, Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Macro Diet, Vegan, Grain Free, Whole 30, Keto? Do you need to use a nutrition calculator and weigh your meals to know how much to eat? Or do you need to hire a nutritionist to create a meal plan for you?
The good news is that for many people, it doesn’t have to be that complicated. Begin with whole, real foods. And get your hands on the highest quality you can find/afford. Our cells thrive on variety, so include as many different colors, flavors and textures as possible. Eat some cooked foods, and some raw. Pay attention to how you feel, and what you crave.
If we were chatting, I’d be telling you that there is no one way of eating that is right for everyone. And no one way of eating that is right for anyone their entire life. Our tastes change, as do our bodies, hormones, appetite, and health concerns. So what we need to be nourishing ourselves with can shift over time.
We work with and cook for clients following all different diet directions, some choose to eat a certain way out of personal preference, and others follow a more strict way of eating because their bodies and health concerns have necessitated it. Most people don’t need to follow a nutritionist created meal plan, but almost all of us can benefit from learning more about how to best support our bodies through food. The thing to remember, is that Every-Body is different, and what your body needs can change over time. Be flexible, patient and take the time to listen to your body, and what it’s telling you.
